A little bit about me pet cpr first aid dog cpr St. Louis pet cpr
My name is Kat. I started out in the pet industry in 1994 and have been a pet groomer since 2004, specializing in dogs with disabilities and special needs. I became a Pet Tech® certified CPR/ first aid instructor after having personal experiences where CPR and rescue breathing were required. Sharing those experiences with others made me realize how important this knowledge is and how many people don't have it. Whether a pet care professional or a loving pet parent, everyone needs to be educated in what to do during an emergency involving their furry family members.
According to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), 1 out of 4 more pets would survive if just one pet first aid technique were applied prior to getting emergency veterinary care.
What you will learnpet cpr first aid dog cpr St. Louis pet cpr

Lets get personal about my pets
I have three dogs, a cat, and fish. One of my dogs, a chihuahua, has a laundry list of medical issues, including heart disease, and I know some day I will have to use what I know of CPR on him. My cat, Ricky Bobby, has an auto immune condition and is severely allergic to every cat food on the market, even most that claim to be hypo-allergenic. One bite of the wrong food is a guaranteed emergency vet visit. I am thankful everyday that I know what to do when situations take a turn for the worst.
I often have temporary residents as well. I regularly rehab wild reptiles, amphibians, and rodents until they are healthy enough to be released.

In addition to CPR and First Aid training, Midwest Pet CPR offers two classes, Knowing Your Pet's Health and Hiking and Outdoor Safety. Each class is approximately 1-2 hours long. These classes are full of useful information but do not count as CPR or first aid training. These classes work well as educational speaking engagements and as charity fundraisers.
